The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program at Washington College was established in 2003 by Dr. John Seidel, Director of the Center for Environment and Society, and is currently led by GIS Program Director Erica McMaster. The GIS Program now has 7 professional staff and more than 50 student interns, ranging across all grade levels and majors, operating in a guild environment. Our mission is to provide Washington College students with experiential learning opportunities via contracts and grants that provide professional experience for our undergraduates.  ​
